ABOUT ME |
University of Nebraska, Omaha | Major: Chemistry | Minor: Spanish | Walter Scott, Jr. Scholarship Recipient
To begin in sharing a little bit about myself, it's important to share about the values and passions that have contributed to who I am. I've always been mindful to root myself in community, my faith, and my hard work. I've grown up in a large family in Omaha, NE, so in regards to my value for community, I'm sure I can owe this to being a quadruplet and always being surrounded by lots of people and lots of activity. Although seemingly chaotic, I would have it no other way, for my siblings are my best friends and encourage me in all I do. My faith also holds extreme value in my life and continually fosters how I treat others as well as myself, and it is often a channel for another passion of mine, singing. Additionally, I value hard work and intentionality in everything I do, which are self-fulfilling but also fuel the projects and aspirations that I work towards.
To continue, I am a student at the University of Nebraska, Omaha, and I am focusing on the pre-med route as I major in Chemistry and minor in Spanish. I chose to pursue chemistry and pre-med for numerous reasons. Alongside the desire to help people, I believe that I have the mind and the composure to succeed in a high-stress, medical profession and environment. I also appreciate that medicine is a field of constant learning and adapting and that there are many career and research opportunities that I could navigate. In the future, I hope to attend medical school while possessing an array of research, internship, or shadowing opportunities that may enhance my experience there. |
